Workshop 1 - The Essentials, April 5, 2025
Want to take your smartphone videos to the next level? Whether you’re creating content for social media, documenting events, or working on a short film, this workshop will give you the fundamental skills to improve your mobile filmmaking.
Facilitated by experienced filmmaker Nathan Shooter, this hands-on session will cover:
Video settings: Making the most of your phone’s camera
Audio: Capturing clear sound
Lighting: Using natural and artificial light effectively
Shot composition: Framing your shots like a pro
What to Bring:
Your phone (charged, with storage space available)
Charger
A basic understanding of your phone’s camera app and gallery is required.

There will be no catering at these workshop. Tea and coffee making facilities are available.
Handouts may be digital - bring along your preferred device to access (or let us know if you prefer printed handouts and we will try to accommodate). Also, bring along your preferred note taking implements.
