Writing a Screenplay Workshop

Always wanted to write a Screenplay? This is the workshop for you.

Long-time Dubbo Filmmakers member and experienced filmmaker Kellie Jennar will guide you to develop a short film script (approximately 2 to 4 pages) with the objective of shooting yourself or with a team.

You will need to bring your own laptop / tablet / paper and pen (what ever you prefer to use to write your screenplay with).

You don’t need any particular software but having screenplay software can help get the format right. Final Draft is the industry standard (paid). You can also do a search on free software. There is a free Google Docs extension called Screenplay Formatter.

Please note: any software you choose to use must be installed and operational. Whilst you will be provided with information on screenplay formatting, we will be unable to provide technical support.

This is the first workshop in a series designed to help you finish a project to enter in the 2023 One Eye Film Festival (although this is not a requirement). It’s also a great opportunity to meet other people interested in making short films - and potential collaborators!
